Maybe the impact of the show was dulled a bit for me because I went into it knowing the hype and some major spoilers (damn you tik tok fyp)
but still, IT WAS SO GOOD.
Knowing the spoilers actually made watching it more interesting cos you can notice all the hints they dropped.
What hits most deeply is seeing how human nature puts living first, but back in real life, can you really live happily without having the money that you need in every part of human life?
"Money can't buy happiness" but it suuuuurrreeee can solve a lot of their problems!!!
I've got my problems with the ending too, but that leaves it wide open for season 2 so I hope it happens!!

The cliche revenge plot made me avoid it at first but DAYUM am I glad that I chose to watch it. Some twists may be predictable but lord the acting, the pacing, the directing and cinematography made it all so worth it. At only 8 episodes, it's perfectly paced for a thriller, no scene is wasted. Park Hee Soon absolutely owned his role as Choi Mujin, I hope he does more gangster roles in future, the costuming suits him so well. and now I cannot stop rewatching!!

I read these prequels when I was already 3 books into the main series, and it's nice picking up the hints about Celaena's past before it was all out in the open.

After feeling the first two books were slow and lacking in development, I found this one to have really picked up the pacing and kicks things forward for the series. I love the character and relationship developments, they set very promising plans for the later books.

The animation is beautiful, music is ethereal, a wonderful adaptation and does great justice to the story. I look forward to later seasons as it covers more and more of the novel.
