With the “star” power in this film, I surely thought the quality of acting to be more than the status quo. Much time is spent in flashbacks, which are pointless dark scenes played over and over again ad nauseam. The use of foul language and sexual scenes are over kill! I know recent studies have shown that cursing is a sign of intelligence, but enough is enough and it truly insults my intelligence to constantly hear. Ridiculous! I purchased a monthly subscription to HBO just to ‘binge watch’ the first season of this dark, dismal portrayal of life at its worst. Perhaps the book actually has some depth.
