Spoiler alert:
This game truly brings out a more realistic outcome in an apocalyptic world. The stories of both the good and evil carry a huge meaning to the game and realistically, those stories aren't to different. I can see why this game has pulled so much negative attention and it is simply because of one pivital point in the story, and yes, that point got me too, it gave me great anger and sadness, emotions that this game PURPOSEFULLY tried to do, which is the excellence of this game. In a perfect world that pivital point wouldn't of happened, but the last of us world is far from. Joel couldn't of done what he did in the first game without consequences in the 2nd. Abby has suffered just as bad as Ellie, and maybe worse and that's what the story tellers developed this game to be like, to show what Abby did, is no different to what Ellie does the whole game, REVENGE. Look, it comes down to if you can handle a realistic outcome compared to an idealistic outcome, which means your looking to play the last of us, and not a Disney game where the ending is always happy.
**** A game that you don't like, doesn't make it a bad game ****
Overall I had a blast with this masterpiece and my emotions didn't. And that's what's meant to happen. I'm so glad I bought it and if you truly love the world of last of us, and can handle a more realistic storyline, this IS the game for you. Hope this helps you all. MISS YOU JOEL!!!
Negatives:
Of course the game wasn't perfect but few games ever are. Joel and Ellie's relationship feels a bit slow and stale, again what the developers want, but we did need something to happen, just 1 hug would of made the difference. Also, whether this is a negative or not depends on if they make another game; the ending scene doesn't bring great closure to the last of us story, which of course means it's not the best kind of ending due to there being so many unfinished stories, however if this isn't the close of the last of us, they have left a lot of material to build a third game off of.
That brings me to my final point. DONT HATE THE GAME, if you truly didn't like the ending, then don't say so, or try to say it more subtle like, because if there isn't enough positive feedback and decent enough reviews, a third game will not happen, continuations rely on the previous game to be banging, so if you wish for another chance to end the story well, give them the chance, stay positive or don't speak in my opinion. But that's one strategy of getting another game.
Anyway hopefully this helps you all, have fun out there in the last of us part 2!!
