As someone who has grown with Winx, having been obsessed over the cartoon since the first season was released in Italy, I've got to say: my expectations were absolutely inexistent. I thought this was going to be an absolute nightmare, an insult to my childhood and an irrevocable mistake. There are a few problems: such as the lack of diversity, the dreadful styling of the girls and some writing problems regarding some characters, which I genuinely found annoying more than once. And I think people agree with me when I say this is not the best they could have done with all the material they could have taken from the original story. But I think people are forgetting this not to be a remake, but a reboot. They never meant to make it the same, but simply get inspiration from it. I binge watched it in one day and I have to say, I am not disappointed. It was a good show, with a formidable cast and great potential for it to become something amazing. I wish people were to stop complaining so much and start looking at it for what it is: a noteworthy teen show. However gave this one star is honestly just petty and close minded, since it honestly deserved better than this. I am giving it 5 stars, not because I thought it was excellent, but because it has potential to be and I wish everyone could give it a go, without too much judgement. I hope I'll be able to watch a second season.
