Its amazing!! Holden Caulfield is an unforgettable character.
Holden recalls the events of previous Christmas when he was 16. He has been kicked out of his school (4th time) coz he has failed in all subjects except English. He is aimless and fools around here and there. He's kinda despicable but also enjoys little things in his life like dancing with his sister, to whom he is quite close.
Coming to the book, well... u might find it to be a narration of random things Holden does in a few days. It seems to be going nowhere. Yes, its a kind of book with lose ends with no proper ending. But I don't mind that kind of books so it was okay for me.
I found the causal behavior of Holden relatable (yeah I was like that when I was 16) but not the other things. At times I got angry at him. But its alright, u know, he is a human after all, he is obviously flawed. I guess we are all somewhat stupid in our teenage days (apologies to the highly intellectual people here).
You can't always point out things, as if u were writing an answer in science, why u liked a particular book. You love it for what it is and in the end u just know u had a good read. That's it. So I can just recommend u to read it once (its a small one) and form your own opinion. Good luck!
