HATED this. It felt like a book for white people to understand what an Uncle Tom is, which could be achieved by actually educating oneself. Evil hair grease is silly. Our protagonist loses. Feels like a hamfisted attempt at Jordan Peele horror. Maybe I didn't "get" it but it really missed the mark for me.
