I had just finished watching King the Land (very good) with Yoonah and was looking forward to this time travel, historical romance. I like watching K Dramas with strong female leads ( like Son Yegin in Crash Landing ) and I was curious how a modern Korean female chef would get along with a male tyrant (played very well by Lee Chae-min) since women are usually treated like dirt especially 500 years ago. I am always amazed at how intricate the story lines are in K dramas. But this story covered all the fantasy and historical elements relatively honest. But I was worried that my hope for a happy ending was a pipe dream with chefs' arms nearly being chopped off and many of the secondary characters being murdered by the bad guys. I also worried about how Yoonah was going to get back to her own time or even if she wanted to. Despite the brutality towards the end of the story, the writer saved the day. The last ten or twelve minutes of Episode 12 were wonderful. I never saw it coming. I am looking forward to watching Bon Appetit again.

I enjoyed watching the film on the only black, female battalion sent to Europe during World War II. I have watched plenty of WWII movies but I had never even even heard if the 6888. The acting was wonderful and the racism, sexism, and hardships toward the women was frequently hard to watch. But I was happy to read that the actual Lena Derriecott, played by Ebony Obsidian, got to see this film when she was 100 years old last January, 2024. She passed away two weeks later and it would be interesting to see how she felt about the film.

This well written movie was wonderful with not a million characters clogging things up. It was fun to watch the transformation of the lead from a high powered lawyer to a clueless brat to a warm, likeable wife and mom. Despite all of the interesting plot twists the ending was better than expected for this hopeless romantic.

I started watching Korean dramas about 6 weeks ago when the virus kept me home. Most of them are rather good but CLOY is the finest. The writing and directing are wonderful, but the chemistry between between the two lead characters is what makes CLOY especially memorable. I also enjoyed the depictions of North Korean life: the military, the country and city people, and the 4 soldiers that provided so much comic relief. The ending was bittersweet; I wonder if a sequel is in the works. Most American sequels are inferior; a sequel for CLOY with the same cast and crew would probably be a continuation of really quality entertainment.

It's still one of my all time favorite movies. The chemistry between Duvall, Caine, and Osment is special. There are lots of interesting scenes, lots of funny characters, and the ending is perfect.

I am a huge Beatles fan and Yesterday is a less expensive version of the Beatles "Love" at the Mirage in Vegas. It's that good.
