Saving you an extensive rant explaining the awful systems in this game from weapons to enemy, character and base upgrades, I will sum it up like this: The entire game is designed to be a painfully slow slog through endless resource gathering walls, while every pause menu, workbench, and upgrade screen encourages you to pay your real money for more resources to help alleviate the absurd grind. I assume this is all to make the 4 hours worth of content they created feel like 20, or just to take more of your money.
Everything is gated, there's no freedom in this "open world" game until you're pretty much already done with it or you pay them cash. Treat yourself to ANY other Far Cry game and I promise you'll have a much more fun, positive, and rewarding experience!
(My favorites are 4, 5, 6, and Primal - but you gotta want to be a caveman to get into Primal. I love 3 too but it's older now so if you haven't already played it try something like 6 first!)
