Cute story that tries too hard to be its namesake’s homage. The canned lines leave watchers wishing for HIMYM honesty yet left empty. My hope is that this series pulls itself out of the canned-laugh-dumpster to be a really true-to-life sitcom-things we relate to show (lord knows we are all waiting anxiously for a new great real sitcom!), but the first two episodes offer minimal connection. Ultimately we’re left waiting for a gray connection with any charter, let alone that Annie Murphy-eque moment where viewers can truly bond with plastic characters t9 become more.
