Although it's satire, I think it does a wonderful job taking jabs and what's wrong with American culture today: obsession with entertainment and materialism, worsening political division, and discounting science. Some people are upset with this movie because they think it's cheap, predictible, and self-righteous.... I think it's just the other side of the same coin of what's wrong with our modern society and what we're doing to our planet. Debate and fight all you want, but either way, we as humans are being self-destructive.
