An interesting view of the lives of upper class families in the UK during the beginning of the war is woven between the anecdotes of Churchill as Prime Minister. There are surprising glimpses into his private life and especially his late night antics when guests were in attendance. This was the first book of Erik Larson I had read, and I was thoroughly caught up in his style of writing.
