Pixar has outdone itself. The first episode seemed like a cute chicken soup story about sports performance pressure. Yet the second one pivots so fast into a completely different angle. The animation is superb and original, perfectly captured modern sociological interactions and phycological dynamics. And the plots accurately portraited the inner worlds of characters of different age, background and paths, making it so relatable. I was thinking about cancelling Disney before turning on the first episode for my son who is sick today. 2.5 hours later I am eagerly waiting for season 2 to drop. This is a show worthy watching for children and parents and young adults. Simply amazing and so deep and rich. Best Pixar product I can think of. Oh, for those who complained about this show is inappropriate for kids, I am sorry but you may want to face reality that many of the matters depicted are indeed in our kid's lives already. I hate to break it to you, we don't live in the lady and tramp days any more. Kids grew up faster and learn more than we did even a few decades ago. It's better we guide them on the matters like financial management, social network and relationships sooner than blindly and unsuccessfully shield them. Bravo Pixar

A fan of the original movie, I had seen it in theaters 10+ times during its release. It has amazing casting, CGI, great story line and excellent music. The sequel is utterly disappointing opposite in almost every way. The plot is weak, predictable, forced and not credible by any means. Casting is equally horrible. Pedro Pascal is no general material should've stuck with narcos. Paul mescal is a complete failure. His character is overtasked with too much development and any effort of acting just seemed to be pointless. And mescal just simply does not command the titular role in the shadow of Crowe, lacking the confidence and a compelling background for a desperate gladiator. Connie Nielsen is about the only welcomed actor but even her acting was off due to excessive Botox and horrible plots. The battle scenes are mostly cheesy and laughable. It's a quarter azzed lotr battle scene type at best. Music is largely copied scene for scene from the original. Still beautiful and haunting. It is sad to see al the hype came down to this, even though I had long had my doubts on any successful sequel after the strong first entry that was not intended for multiple entries. This is a far cry from the 2000 movie and should've not been attempted. Ridley Scott must be desperate or greedy to make money knowing this wouldve ruined his own franchise and reputation. Shame on him.

A genuinely smart and funny script perfectly sized for NC, who has done a great acting job along with Pedro Pascal. I hope NC gets his due recognition for this movie.

All props to Disney to bring the ducks into 2020s. Better stories, great casts, modern and fitting narratives that had good enough twists that's more than the original trilogy. Amazing. The whole family enjoys it and scenes literally brought tears to my eyes.
