Critics love trashing films like this because they are expecting some sort of incredibly original story. There are only so many story types. My advice is - just go and watch this to enjoy it. It's not perfect but it's fun. It does borrow from other big films but so many other films do. The Oscars tend to go to incredibly boring films with tedious social justice messages. This doesn't really try to preach or virtue signal - it's just a tale of good versus evil, love and loss, and thrilling escapades. I liked it.
