I read this book when I was 10, my older sister was 13. It hit close to home and helped me realise we could have a happy ending if we seeked help. Things got worse before they got better, but I'm 30 now, and I have a happy ending. This author is very important in children's lives, it can show other children empathy for others, and it can show children they're not alone and there is hope!
