He played into the stereotypical man who hates women. Whatever Tyler’s issue is with women will have to play out on someone else’s tv- not mine. Beating and raping women and children is not entertainment; it’s sick.

I’ve enjoyed watching the show. My only problem is with Kat’s storyline. Can she be a person of color without also having to be gay, bi, pegging a guy, or an activist? There was too much put on this one character. Most people of color have normal lives and deal with regular life issues. But she has to be mixed (not black), and a lesbian with a draining and weird love life, and an activist. Pegging a guy makes her feel powerful? It is suppose to be the bold type not a stereotype. It’s too much.

I watched Atypical and it was really good. This show reminds me of Lizzie McGuire show that I loved watching growing up. But this failed because they chose to specify Noah’s, the main character‘s, issue as social anxiety. As a person who has suffered with social anxiety my entire life, THIS SHOW GAVE ME ANXIETY! His dog is an untrained stray causing all sorts of problems on top of the very serious problem he already has. I know all social anxiety isn’t the same, but there is No Way anyone with social anxiety would do any of the things Noah does. People with social anxiety AVOID unnecessary attention not create it. They make themselves invisible. It’s just very unrealistic, so very unrealistic. The dog would only make him look more weird at school- and that is not what someone with ASD would want. Zombies???? Yeah. Maybe I’m too close to the topic. I think they should have maybe showed him without the dog for several episodes to show what it’s really like and who Noah really is and then showed the dog as a part of his treatment. I'm literally stopped at the beginning of the second episode writing this. I can’t. It’s almost offensive.
