Too focused on the little girls and making the adults out to be weak and under-equipped to provide a coherent story. Continuity is non existent and completely goes back on the last 3 movies for the sake of "har har big monster". Majority of the events are left unexplained about why Godzilla is now the bad guy. Where are the other Titans, only Godzilla could sense MechaGodzilla? Where did Kong learn sign language? The Hollow Earth scenes were beautiful but never expanded on. This movie doesnt feel like a sequel to Kong: Skull Island or either of the Godzilla movies. It feels like a standalone, big budget, mindless monster fight movie. I feel like they dropped the ball big time on the potential this movie had. If it were a standalone, it would have been way better; but when youre building a cinematic universe, your pieces must line up and your story must continue on the same path.
