As a long-time fan of the hit UK show, Miranda, I really wanted to like the US version. To be honest, though, I wish it didn’t exist. Hearing somebody else deliver the same words as Miranda Hart fell totally flat. They have totally missed the point with Call Me Kat. The end of the episode took Miranda three UK seasons to get to in standing up for herself. So they haven’t understood who this character is. It’s almost painful to have someone else deliver many of the same words as the UK version. I suppose if I was not already so familiar with the UK version it would look different to me, but I do know it well and Call Me Kat did not even come close to the charm and vulnerability of Miranda.
