I was unimpressed. Under my system of turtle points, I gave it 5 turtles. It gained a turtle for having a couple of good jump scares, but lost a turtle for being too long and boring. Gained a turtle for taking place somewhere besides America or Japan, but lost a turtle for expecting us to take Ed and Lorraine Warren seriously. Gained a turtle for the scene in which Janet is sucked through the ceiling into the bedroom, but lost a turtle for not showing the scene in which she levitates as shown in the picture. The movie starts with 5 turtles and ends up with 5 turtles.

I enjoyed the third installment much more than the second. It started out slow, and Emma Thompson’s talents were wasted, but once it got going I found it fun and engaging. The blobfish alone deserved one turtle. Overall, 8 turtles.
