Well I can't understand either how this film got rave reviews from the critics and has been all over the press extolling it's prizes. There was no plot. Just an inside snapshot of court life - but which was so localised with Sarah and Abigail that it was like watching a minor spat between colleagues. No one is unfamiliar with using sex to gain power and status, lesbian or otherwise, but usually this is in a context of high tension drama. I couldn't see the comedic talent either although others in the audience were laughing every time the word c*** was mentioned. There wasn't an ending either - it just stopped. The costumes and sets were gorgeous but I was clock watching after the first hour, and relieved when it was finished. Overall it was just very dull from start to finish.
