First off... I actually love Drew’s wardrobe (esp the jewelry) and I love the colors but I feel like she needs to switch it up and not be held prisoner by the fall color scheme she seems to be partial to (or her stylist is... the clothes are very Drew though), so yeah now that I got that out of the way... the actual show itself.... I must admit I watch it because I find it entertaining and kinda wacky... a little different from the usual morning fare (hot bench is fun but also frustrating at times), some people think she’s overdoing it... not being authentic, I don’t know if I fully agree with that but there’s no doubt that she uses her acting as a way to up her persona... which I get, it’s a very useful tool to have in morning television where people like Kelly Ripa radiate that same manic energy and you are competing with them but... it does seem a bit much at times, maybe even childish, I’ve always felt Drew’s cutesy qualities were authentic so it’s not so much that but the constant feeling like her switch is always on and that we’re never seeing the actual Drew Barrymore that exists when it’s off, I keep watching bc it’s different and she has a positive energy that doesn’t annoy me (Like Kelly/Ryan), as someone who has worked Hollywood all her life and as a woman it would be nice to see her touch on more serious topics that would set her apart from her peers while still having segments that get to showcase the lighter fare, I’d like to think Drew will find her footing and this show will eventually become something much better but considering the times we’re in... it’s not half bad at all.
