Kennedy yet again outdoes herself with this one! Continuation of the Kingmaker, Rebel king is more intense, thrilling, and emotional. We get to see more of Maxim and he does NOT disappoint. I can't remember the last time I had a crush on a fictional character so bad, I wished they were real. Maxim Cade's unfettered love for Lennix is multiplied by multi-folds in this one. This one is more political but it does not stray from the essence of the book which is romance. Yet some themes like the rights of indigenous peoples and climate change are written with great sensitivity and detail. All of this only compliments the story and the characters. I am in complete awe of Kennedy Ryan's extremely admirable quality of bringing characters to life and giving them so much depth and layers. Rebel King is possibly one of the best romances I've read! Highly recommend!
