It was deeply moving to watch, very much like the book but also containing what was learned about the family later in two camps.

It's a stunning, action packed movie with one of the most overall, completely professional master actors I've seen in a one film in a very long time. The story is either the real life adventure of those times, or it's as close as it can get. Packed with just the right amount of back story to get each scene flowing into the next. And I loved the patriotic underpinning. We need more of this celebration today!

Some of my ancestors lived in those lands during the French-Indian War. One family in particular suffered enormously; their story has been written about for generations. This movie clarifies much of their circumstances. It's time for me to see it again.
