This is not a first "Hindi" film as it was silent. In fact the movie was made by Marathi people on Marathi soil and does not have any Hindi connection in any way. This false claim by the Hindi film fraternity is a sheer attempt of showing their superiority.
Marathi people will always take this step as an insult to the father of Indian cinema.
