Either without Ripley it is not perceived, or the actors' reactions to what happens are too unrealistic - it feels like such monsters are attacking them in the order of things; when they left their friend just lying there with an alien on her face, I didn't get scared - I smiled. So halfway through the film, I finished this Alien a'la Rome. If you took out all the actors, I think I'd probably finish it because of the level of the sets and the filming.

I don't remember last time a movie made cry. Shogun just did. Thanks to all those involved in its production.

The visuals are terrific. The Emperor didn't look like an emperor. Paul wasn't convincing as a messiah. Chani was hysterical. Part 2 is shallow and leaves no aftertaste.

A lousy piece of modern cinematography

The narrative is sharp. Its cuts are deep and leave a lot to think over. Chastain is superb. Hathaway tries her best and deserves a nod.

James Bond dies in the end ... My heart is broken. The pace is less smooth than in previous Craig's Bond films but given No Time to Die has a lot of connections to the earlier events, this story is amazing.

I am fairly sentimental. At the same time, I can't count how many times my eyes got wet during the series. It is extraordinary.

I have read the book and I think that this adaptation is stunning. For those unfamiliar with the novel, the film may seem much less interesting or even disappointing. ps: thopters are mind-blowing
