Brilliant in its presentation of a complex but seminal time in US History, the opening minutes of the film are deceptive in their enticing simplicity. Events build, and the title character’s transformation brings an understanding of the genesis of current tensions and challenges. Can’t t believe I waited almost 3 decades to see it.
