I wish Hollywood would actually consult with a dispatcher and do scripts in a believable way. The first part of the movie made me hate it immediately.
The dispatcher is the one who takes the 911 call, gets the description, name, dob, and anything to help find her like ask if she has her phone on her. If there is a chance she is in danger then the dispatcher would start pinging the phone with the phone company, which takes a bit. A patrol officer would be dispatched to the scene by the dispatcher. The patrol officer would call a sgt and then possibly a detective is they think it’s fowl play. The sgt or LT may have gone to the scene if all patrol were on other calls. A detective MIGHT show up if he was nearby away and heard it in the radio. The dispatcher sends out a bolo to surrounding agencies. This is protocol in tiny towns and huge cities. The husband would have CALLED the parents... not drove there. Gerald is a phenomenal actor and it feels like he sucks because of director instruction. And who the hell wrote this.... I 100% get going to the guy and not trusting the police but when you get fn pulled over... and normal person would say “I’m out here upset and looking for my wife that’s missing” — why would you fun lie to a cop who has the bolo or apb as they called it in the movie where his wife is! The cop would have been like “yeah you are having a bad day” and gave him a warning... instead he ran and became a suspect. It’s one stupid thing after another after another.
