The acting is great, the cgi and equipment works.. However, the storyline and the writing is terrible. It really makes me cringe at so many strange and stupid choices the writers have made for the various characters. No character bar Burnham gets a real backstory or t ime to shine episodes. its all about Burnham constantly.
