I have read all Kate’s Morton previous books and enjoyed them all, however I found this book disjointed and confusing. The story of the ‘incident’ had potential but there was too much to-ing and fro-ing between generations and too many inconsequential characters and unresolved plots. In my opinion the story / mystery would have been better if it had concluded within the lifetime of the principle characters. I limped my way through it and was left feeling disappointed about the time spent reading it.
