Great movie, especially loved the final scene where Taku punched Rikako in the face for her stupid antics and then went out with Yukata. Headcanon aside, this movie was horrendous. Rikako had no character, aside from a demanding little b***h who; borrowed 60,000 yen from Taku and told him not to tell anyone, borrowed 20,000 yen from Yukata and never paid him back, tried to get another highschooler to go with her to Tokyo against their parent's wishes, complained nonstop about Taku (even when he helped her), told the male leads that she hated their hometown and anyone with their dialect, slapped Taku TWICE(first because he told her off for the previous action, then because he told her she did a good job telling off a group of girls[who were upset at her for never being involved in group activities])and did many more awful things. Yet, at the end of the movie, Taku still runs after her because "he loved her"? Do not waste your time or money on this movie. I will say, without a shadow of a doubt, it is THE WORST Studio Ghibli film.
