MUST WATCH. But watch Heneral Luna first to better understand the story of the film.
This is going to be the second movie that I am going to rate (Heneral Luna as the first).
Both films were absolutely great! Unlike other filipino films, it can be noticed that they spent a lot of money just to make this film come to life. A huge cast and crew of 2,000. A production of multiple set locations. A film budget that almost tripled the cost of its predecessor. No expense was spared in bringing to life the story of Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral, the second installment in the historical trilogy that commenced with the 2015 blockbuster biopic Heneral Luna (Philstar, 2018).
Before, I was not a fan of historical films or other tagalog films, but thank goodness I still took time to watch heneral luna and goyo. DEFINITELY WAS NOT A WASTE OF TIME AT ALL.
This might sound corny but the story of heneral luna, goyo, and all our heroes made my heart closer to the Philippines. I don't want to move into other country when I finish my studies so that I could have a better life, I want to stay here, serve and help our country and our countrymen have a place where going abroad isn't the only choice to be rich and successful.
Kudos to all the actors and staff for the hardwork! YOUR HARDWORK TRULY PAID OFF. I am really looking forward to see more of these proudly Filipino-made films! xoxo
