From the very first moment I began to read this book I simply could not put it down. The intriguing opening where a young dying girl describes her ‘Reality’ saving her when no doctor has been able to was something of a thrower from what I expected, but how it was to take me to a journey into Romania in the 80s I couldn’t understand. The eventual journey was beyond anything I could have imagined, and the way all of the characters interacted was handled so beautifully. As such, despite learning about the harsh fate of the children in Bucharest at that time, I was not prepared for the ending which simply blew me away. I thoroughly recommend this amazing book to anyone looking for a good read.
