I won't say I loved it, but it is a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. Emily Blunt, although as competent as always, is not in the same league as Julie Andrews, as Mary Poppins. They were big shoes, if a little offset, to fill. The children are delightful, Colin Firth is a good scoundrel banker and Lin - Manuel is great as the lamplighter Jack. Meryl Streep is superfluous and lousy as some crazy gypsy character. It was lovely to see Dick Van Dyke and Angela Lansbury in cameo's. I've seen it. Dont want seconds thanks. Give me the original any day.
