My late father told me years ago what a brilliant series, Line of Duty was. Unfortunately it was already half way through the second series when he told me about it so I started watching there on & he was so right, it hooked me in immediately with its amazing acting, clever twists & turns, so much so, it is so hard to predict exactly who is corrupt & who’s genuine. Sadly deep down I was very annoyed with myself that I never saw any of the 1st series & only saw half of the second series.
I have to say it is by far the most brilliantly written police drama that the BBC have ever aired. It’s violent but in a way that is realistic, not far fetched & only the way we British can produce, sorry America but your programmes for me are far too over the top.
With the upcoming new series 5 starting, I was so overjoyed to see that the BBC had all 4 series to download on catch up. I had watched series two half way through, 3 & 4 and so I was able to start right back at the very beginning with series 1 which I really loved & then the further series so on. It didn’t matter that I had watched them before, it was so good to refresh my memory of all the characters, their private lives & the thrilling storylines. I must admit 1-3 for me was amazing but I didn’t seem to enjoy series 4 quite as much but I don’t quite know why. I have series 5 first episode on tape so will eagily sit down tonight to watch it & no doubt it will be amazing with Stephen Graham as anything he is in is brilliant & no doubt instantly I will be on the edge of my seat from start to finish.
I hope this programme can continue on for many more series as there is nothing that remotely compares to this in the way it is shot & acted, it’s a total master piece of genuius, exciting & thought provoking writing & cannot recommend this 5* series enough
