Jim Langenbucher

This series is such a nearly perfect blend of mystery, violence, humor and pathos that it is difficult to conceive how it could have been better. Perhaps one or two plot devices that were a bit far-fetched - the Deacon dumping the bicycle in the river, the killer transporting the dead girl's body 13 miles for no apparent reason - but this is just quibbling. Casting and acting are superb, just superb, you'll find nothing better anywhere on the small screen.
