This is simply a magnificent book and a book that should be read by everyone. This is, by far, the most outstanding book I have ever read on the Holocaust but it is so much more than that. Some of the descriptions are emotionally challenging, whilst others (Minka's secret collection of other people's photographs, whom she has never met and never will because they've been gassed) leaves you quietly sobbing. This book has been so delicately crafted and magnificently executed that arriving at the last page left me feeling bereft but so utterly grateful for the life I've had.
Thank you so much Jodi. xx
