The Taylor situation: to be fair yes the joke is old and misogynistic 100% but trying to literally get the show canceled over the one line is not cool. Ginny’s character is annoying and I think written to be hypocritical bc she preaches about feminism and then puts down other women in the show. The show is really good and doesn’t deserve To be canceled over ONE line obviously an apology needs to be issued from Netflix and the writer bc you DO NOT disrespect the queen however, a lot of these actors in the show is their first big role and their career is just starting.. same thing for the cast and crew who worked so hard to develop the show.. and while yes ginny’s character is so so very annoying and a huge teen stereotype which doesn’t apply at all today, the show talks about real issues like feminism, growing up being biracial and struggling.. to belong, as well as dealing with trauma, and the struggles of a hardworking single mom that is doing her very best to provide a better life. And I repeat the line was totally a low blow so many other things could’ve been said, and I don’t think it was made to be funny.. I think the line was written to show how hypocritical Ginny is bc in this day in age the only people who laugh at misogynistic jokes are insecure men.. which is obviously not the key demographic for this show.
