So far from the book as to be beyond disappointing. It’s an irritating watch of formulaic Hollywood trash. I don’t know how Tom Clancy could allow such a travesty to carry his name. In no way does it follow the book whatsoever other than the use of a few names. Even if it was slightly entertaining I would say that but it isn’t at all. Even not having read the book I don’t think anyone could say this movie was entertaining and enjoyable to watch. Although if you have read the book then this movie is an insult to an epic story that would have been a fantastic movie if it followed the story told in the book. All in all a waste of your time and brain cells is all this movie is.

Don’t believe the hype! Watch this movie right to the end. (People shouldn’t be able to leave a review of a movie they only watched for 7 mins because they couldn’t stop scrolling through IG or Facebook). It’s not a Hollywood formulaic cookie cutter movie that makes it easy for a simple audience to laugh at every joke on cue. It certainly isn’t a feel good comedy where everything works out perfectly in the end so you are left knowing everything is just fine. It’s thought provoking dark humour that turns the mirror on modern consumerism society and shows how sick we’ve become. By the end I don’t know whether I’m supposed to laugh or cry. Upon reflection it’s very clever and I like it because it doesn’t follow a set formula or attempt to make you feel all fuzzy and warm inside because everything works out just perfectly in the end.

Great movie. Well written. Well acted. Characters that you will care about. I understand it’s long and not for everyone. Even though it was a rather cliched revenge movie I got completely caught up in the story. Artistically shot and in a very stylised way which I appreciated but probably not to everyone’s taste.
