So unfortunately Alita Battle Angel is a pretty, sleep-inducing bore set in an awesome setting that can't help itself make for an interesting movie.
Don't get me wrong! The fight scenes were fantastic but the sloppy and predictable plot were what drew me down. The story itself made it easy to understand why it was granted a PG-13 rating, but other times due to the violence and dialogue it really blurred the line between that and an R rating.
It didn't need to be a 2.5 hour long movie, and the ending was unfortunately cut short for an absolute sequel.
I enjoyed it over all and the characters for the most part are pretty awesome, but there are some holes you have to get out of and past to enjoy the movie to it's fullest extent.
You're going to leave the theatre longing for more, especially more fight scenes.
Still worth the watch, but don't come into it with incredible storytelling expectations.
