Seeing as there are many that are familiar with the show's background and many that are not, The Witcher knocked it out of the park. It did so in such a way that one does not need to have prior knowledge to enjoy the show; Henry Cavill does an incredible job recreating the title character, and the majority of the rest of the cast have spectacular performances as well, with special reference to Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg. What small hiccups The Witcher does have in as far as certain general production choices (such as pacing variation for certain characters), the show makes up for in storytelling, acting, and atmosphere creation which is strongly tied to the games/books but is still unique to the show.
