An interesting, if convoluted, series. Damian Lewis is the draw here: he has mastered the laconic, inscrutable genius persona, which informs many of his other performances (Billions, Homeland, etc.) For my money, however, no one touches Vincent D’Onofrio’s performance as Det. Bobby Goren: Much less smirk and cleverness, and much more pain and conflict. Perhaps a bit mad, too. And the guest villains give some amazing performances, too.
