Yes, the story is stale. Very stale. Yes, the main character's full backstory isn't revealed until much later in the film making you not connect enough with her emotionally to make the film as fulfilling as it could have been. And, YES, Some of the plot devices are just IMPOSSIBLE coincidences that I guess MAYBE could happen in real life in the woods of the Pacific Northwest but PROBABLY would never actually happen given the laws of probability. I mean, it was so bad at some points, I was actually expecting the film to reveal the antagonist had sewn a GPS tracker into the protagonist's clothing or something with the way he was able to pinpoint her position ALL OF THE TIME, EVEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREAKIN' WOODS. However, the storytelling was very well done for a low-budget film and the tension and climax played out very well on screen despite its shortcomings. If you can get past the "oh, give me a damned break!" moments you'll come across in this film, it is probably worth seeing one time once it comes out on a streaming movie service.
