The Batman made by Matt Reeves, which was successful with War for The Planets of the Apes, really gives a dark Superhero spectacle with noir nuances that is very impressive.
The story telling is very coherent with a tempo that never slacks. The action scenes are not bombastic with the super technological power of Nolan.
Matt Reeves made The Batman as Drew Goddard made the Netflix version of Daredevil. Dark, bitter, tense and always makes me curious about what will happen next.
Robert Pattinson plays Batman as a young adult whose youth is hurt and full of anger. He did not know what was behind the death of his parents. He didn't know why the murders that happened to the rulers of Gotham always involved him.
Slowly but surely, with the help of Cat Woman and Lieutenant Gordon, the three of them try to unravel a mystery that will open a series of puzzles that terrorize Gotham City, as well as uncover who is the real mastermind behind all the murders that occur.
One thing that deserves thumbs up is the music score that accompanies Batman's action, which is so fitting and unobtrusive like the initial scene of the Joker robbery in Nolan's Batman. Michael Giaccino really makes The Batman a thriller and full of terror.
Joe Kravitz plays elegant and sexy as Cat Woman. Casting is really appropriate, as Jeffrey Wright lined up as Gordon. Finally, Paul Dano was not wrong to be given the mandate as The Riddler. Nerd and hurt full of vengeance. Collin Farrell played Penguin well and no one would have guessed that he was behind the prosthetic makeup that required him to endure hours of make-up.
Lastly, this film is a Batman film with a detective approach, but still a superhero film. It's just in a different and darker style. The final scene in the stadium made me cry tears of joy. It's very touching and makes The Batman very personal for me.
A masterpiece from Matt, I give it a 10/10. Best viewed at IMAX!
