Ao Mizu

Speaking as a trans-gay man who loves the book this film is based off I am simply disgusted by the film. I'm speaking about the adaption here, how they handled the source material and characters, the plot, how anything sexual that could be referenced was, how it made me feel like vomiting. If you like the book I do not recommend this unless you like cringy plots, ooc characters and just bad directing. I understand the movie might be trying to be edgy, or beat around the bush, maybe the author even wanted in to be directed as such, but as a writer I would be furious if a work of mine got adapted into such mediocre twaddle. I would honestly write more here, but I honestly feel sick after watching this. I LOVE the book, but the movie was an utter disappointment, I nearly dropped it soooooo many times, but it just doesn't stand up on its own. When more heartwarming and fun pieces of media come out from very homophobic countries that says something. Especially when the works are more inclusive and cheerful than love simon's movie.
