2023 MW3 campaign review:
*ONLY THE CAMPIAGN*
Overall review - 4/10 or 2/5 stars
I took into consideration all aspects of the game. Played through the campaign twice and considered the amount of time and effort that went into this campaign. I feel like this is a fair assessment and I won't be releasing my full rating of the game until it's fully released.
Guns/attachments/ etc - 4/10
They copied alot of the MW2 (2022) and MW (2019) load outs with the same attachments, lethal/tactical, and field upgrades. They incorporated five different "rarity" guns that dictated how many attachments they had. 0 grey, 1 white, 2 green, 3 blue, 4 purple, and 5 orange.
Graphics- 7/10
impressive 4k graphics with great motion tracking and picture. However the bots within the games main campaign don't properly interact and sometimes glitch.
Overall storyline - 3/10
Very confusing storyline with a horrible plot. Very confusing and conflicting. This ranks at the bottom of the list for all call of duty campaigns. Makarov comes back and you go between the task force 141 and makarovs private army. The conflicts go back and forth preventing disaster's that makarovs force plans. At the end we lose an important character from task force 141 and that's about it. Story takes place in Verdansk, Middle East, Siberia, St. Petersberg, and London.
Gameplay - 3/10
Not impressive at all. Looks like they took the co-op missions from MW2 and converted it into the main campaign except adding boxes/field upgrades/guns/ tactical/lethal/ and ammo laying around. The objective weren't clear until you got close enough to an "apparent target" after discovering the map. They had different "rarities" on the guns based on the number of attachments they had. Overall very disappointed with the campaign as I typically look forward to it.
Campaign length- 1/10
One of the shortest campaigns I've ever played for call of duty. The cut scenes where almost longer than some of the missions. Took me 3 hours and 20 minutes to complete the campaign on regular difficulty. That's with me exploring every single inch of the campaign. I went through a second time and completed it in 2 hours and 8 minutes with watching the cutscenes.
Just FYI this game doesn't even have a platinum trophy.
As a huge cod I was very disappointed. But I am going to stick around for the full release. My rating may change depending on how zombies and multiplayer turns out. But at this point COD really needs a home run.
I Hope this helps, I'm crossing my fingers the full release will change my mind.
