I think this book romanticises the journey of Mexican migrants into the U.S. and isn’t real enough. The nice coyote, the stop to put bandaid on the boy’s foot where his boots have rubbed, Lydia getting her bag back when she’s told she can go free, the miscarriage… so many instances when real life would have been so much harsher.
I found it informative to an extent and very thought provoking.
It was well written - no jarring text or typos.
