I got onto this after an Asian-Australian TV chef Adam Liaw recommended it on his show as his top pick for a movie/TV series based on cooking. So glad we decided to watch it. It's so gentle and gives a beautiful insight into Japanese culture and food. Makes me really motivated to get to Japan again and order some authentic food from a little backstreet diner! Can't recommend it enough. It may take a little time to get used to the style of the show as it's different from American style TV shows. But that is a bit part of its charm.
