To me, this book could have done well if it were set in the perspective of Needles and/or Noodles. The main character, Ali, doesn't have an interesting character arc- it pretty boring. He's just..there.
However, I was EXTREMELY compelled into Needles' plot. It's the first time I've seen a book with a character with Tourettes Syndrome, and Reynolds portrays his condition very well! (I have a friend who has it) As someone with tics, I felt understood, and I could feel what Needles was going through. I wanted to see more of Needles and Noodle's relationship, and I was really disappointed about the ending as well.
