I'd like to just leave a little review. So, I'm a dropout specifically because my school system never actually taught us anything, no traumatic wars, no information about history, nothing, it was a lot of.. either Leftist ideology or absolutely nothing at all. I just left because of that.
This, coming from someone who's been interested in history but didn't know where to start, was a lovely introduction into what happened back there. Although it wasn't like a gigantic history lesson, it's a nice tidbit to look back on and I'd like to think even use as a reference point compared to our political situation today (or further down the line, depending on how the pendulum swings).
The film itself, although slow paced started to catch my attention around an hour or so, when Schindler himself started to have a somewhat soft spot and treated the Jews like people. It was interesting to know that this was based off real accounts, and that this was a genuine recreation of what happened, even including actual survivors at the end.
I don't understand why there's people complaining that this is over done or.. why should we feel about this topic if "many horrible things have happened to OTHER people and places", I believe we're allowed to look at history and understand what happened, and even feel bad for what happened. Not like it's blood on our hands, but I think as a normal sensible human being, you can still feel sympathy towards the past events, and also feel sympathy for OTHER past events. Goodness.
I'd recommend watching this in your own time, whether its out of curiosity, wanting to know a little bit more of what happened in the past. I came into this 100% blind, and I enjoyed the movie. It really is a masterpiece.
