No spoilers....
Ok, this movie was about what you would expect from a Godzilla film. To start, and witch should be addressed, is that all the actors put in a lot of effort, as well as displaying an obvious passion for the film and material. Along with the CGI, witch was on par with how Thanos in Avengers next to living figures felt there, and had WEIGHT. They all looked magnificent as well. And the military vehicles looked practical. It was definitely worth seeing in theaters, and with the consistent monster clashing action, DBox. The world was well explored, and much was saved from the film trailers, except the latest witch showed to much of the final act. Many themes from the Toho series came into to play, or where integrated in seamlessly. Overall that would be the pros in my opinion.
The cons I'd have to say weighed evenly almost if it were not for the overall dedication and love that the material was handled with in general. The script was cheesy, a lot, as well the jokes witch took away from the depth of some scenes. Jokes fell flat at times, especially from Thomas Middleditch. One in particular from him was the ganari one... witch took away from the Gidora name revile. Thankfully it was few and far between (to much death and destruction to squeeze one in I suppose), with most jokes coming from Bradly Whiteford who exhales at levity in fearfull or dark moments, and still comes off with a sens of empathy, look at Cabin in the Woods for instance. And the true artistic sense of scene capturing and story progression wasn't there like the last film.
