They donโt make โem like this anymore. The comedies of today arenโt funny and watching this film proves it. I havenโt laughed so hard from watching ten contemporary comedies as I have in this one. The timing, the writing, itโs all so well done, so sharp. Felix (Jack Lemmon) has been kicked out by his wife and in danger of suicide. Oscar (Walter Matthau) takes him in as his wife and kids have left him and heโs got an eight-bedroom apartment all to himself. But Felixโs fastidious domestic habits drive Oscarโs bachelor tolerances up the wall. We see these mismatched guys inexplicably tied together.
